Sending and picking up take three steps. This page also covers limits, expiry, and what to do when something fails.
How to send
- Open cpcp, choose Files, or paste text directly.
- Sealing gives you a 6-digit pickup code to share aloud or as a QR code.
- Parcels expire after one hour by default.
How to pick up
- Open cpcp in a browser on the other device and enter the 6-digit pickup code.
- A parcel can be claimed successfully at most 10 times.
- After expiry, text, files, and parcel metadata are deleted together and cannot be recovered.
How to read a code aloud
Read one digit at a time and pause every three digits, for example 482 913. Do not add spaces or symbols, and do not rush similar-sounding digits.
If the other person cannot hear you clearly, copy the link or let them scan the QR code instead.
Size and claim limits
- Text: 64KB.
- Single file: 100MB.
- One parcel: at most 20 files and 200MB in total.
- Successful claims: at most 10.
- Retention: one hour by default.
Common errors
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Wrong pickup code | A missing or extra digit, or 0 read as O | Enter the 6 digits again with no spaces |
| The page says expired | More than one hour passed, or all 10 claims were used | Ask the sender to send it again; expired content cannot be recovered |
| Network dropped | The connection changed or the page reloaded | Re-enter the code and retry; avoid rapid repeated refreshes |
| File too large | One file is over 100MB, or the parcel is over 200MB | Split the file or send fewer files |
| Browser unsupported | The browser is old, or this is an in-app browser | Try the latest system browser instead |
What not to send
Do not send passwords, keys, identity documents, medical records, financial records, or other sensitive content. The pickup code is the only credential, and anyone who obtains or guesses it can retrieve the content.
